Challenge
The existing ambulance station needed to be demolished within a live and sensitive area surrounded by residential properties and active access routes. The structure included mixed materials that required safe dismantling and effective waste segregation. Heavy machinery movements had to be managed within tight working boundaries, with a focus on protecting nearby buildings, footpaths, and public areas during demolition.
Solution
AEL Environmental Specialists deployed a controlled demolition approach using tracked excavators equipped with specialist attachments for safe dismantling. The site was securely fenced, and plant movements were coordinated to minimise disruption. Waste materials were removed in stages, segregated, and loaded into containers for compliant disposal. Ground surfaces were levelled and cleared to leave the area ready for the next phase of construction. Throughout the project, safety procedures and environmental controls were maintained at all times.
